  What is the punishment for homosexuality in Islam

The crime of homosexuality is greater than all crimes, and the most heinous of all sins, and the worst of all acts. Decline, and blindness of insight, and intellectual weakness, a sign of lack of religion and humiliation, and a step towards deprivation. We seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty.

Allah Almighty has instructed.

And when Lot said to his people: Do you commit indecency which none before you did? The answer of his people was: Get him out of your city. They are chaste people. We saved him and his family, but his wife was one of the survivors. He rained down on them stones from the sky, so see what the criminals did.

Elsewhere, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

I swear by your age, they are astonished at their drunkenness, so in the morning they were caught by a thunderbolt, and We knocked down the top of their town, and We rained down on them a rain of pebbles from the sky. Indeed in that are signs for a people who understand.
